In order to throw you need things to throw...

...but where do you find them?  Well, hopefully, this page will help you find some implements or give you ideas how make some.  I'll vouch for the sheafs, as one our organization makes them, but any other equipment vendor is their own entity.  I'll also post any creative solutions we have, as long as we've used them & deem them viable.  And of course please consult the links page for further resources.

Sheafs

Jason Clevenger has been making sheafs since 2006 & has got it down to an art.  These bags are tight, compact, certified on weight, & come in a limited variety of colors (red, blue, green, brown, & tan).  The bag featured on the left is a 20 lb. sheaf.  Pricing & details are handled individually, so if you're looking for a great bag, send him an email

Weights

Stones

You wouldn't think finding a throwing stone would be as difficult as it is.  The perfect stone has to have the proper combination of weight, shape, & texture.  Really, you have two options.  The first is to hunt for a stone.  Keep a eye out when you're driving past farmers' fields in the spring, search riverbeds, or spend some quality time on the stone pile at your local landscape supplier.

Or you can order them from Kevin Neis for $1/lb (6 - 150 lb.)

Hammers

Ryan Pitts of IA makes some nice hammers at a reasonable price.  These are lead hemispheres (approximately) with holes for flared PVC.

Kilts

Sportkilt will get you dressed for the games in a cost effective manner.

Stillwater Kilts is another source for inexpensive kilts.  A little pricier than Sportkilt, but owners of a Stillwater Kilt hail their durability
